Mehsut paid working visit in Chile

Several days ago, the vice director of Ministry of Land and Resources and the director of National Administration of Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformation—Mehsut was invited to lead his team to visit Chile.


Minister Victor • Lei Yasiand vice minister Hector·Maldonadoof the Ministry of National Assets of Chile respectively granted an interview to Mehsut. In the interview, governmental personnel of Chile introduced the main responsibilities of Ministry of National Assets as the administration of state-owned lands and houses and especially introduced its state-owned land registration system, land information coordination mechanism and the infrastructure construction of geographic space data.


Mehsut said that Chile was the first country of South America which established diplomatic relations with China. The two countries maintained good relations and the cooperation of them in many fields had achieved significant progress in the latest years. Mehsut introduced the laws, regulations, policies and systems of Chinese government in the management of surveying and mapping geographic information, introduced the development of Chinese cause of surveying and mapping geographic information and put forward some suggestions for the cooperation in the field of surveying and mapping geographic information.

Lei Yasi warmly welcomed the delegation and stated that geographic information was becoming more and more important in Chile. Lei Yasi said Ministry of National Assets of Chile would like to strengthen the exchange and cooperation between the two departments and take the development experience of China as reference. He hoped to further carry out their practical cooperation starting from the visit and exchange.


During the period of visit in Chile, Mehsut also visited Military Surveying and Mapping Institute of Chile. The personnel of Chile introduced its organizations, functions, national basic scale series of map products, currently ongoing nationwide 1:25000 mapping, integrated information system of emergency response, national standard network of land surveying, the maintenance and update of geographic information products and multi-source heterogeneous data integration cloud platform. Both parties widely and profoundly exchanged about basic surveying and mapping, data policy and other relevant issues.

 

During the period of visit, Mehsut interviewed Chinese ambassador Li Baorong in Chile.
